Naad Workshop with Guru Raj Kaur Khalsa
January 7, 2008
On January 5th, 2008, Guru Raj Kaur Khalsa presented a three hour introduction to Classical Gurbani Kirtan – sacred music from the Sikh tradition.
Guru Raj Kaur says,
” I have seen the longing in many people of our community
to sing the Guru’s Word, to experience this for their
own upliftment and to share with the community.
Some have voices that would lovingly serve the singing
of Gurbani. Where to begin? Here. We will address
this longing, help you to approach it with the proper
attitude, and begin the technical journey! “
Here is a short video from the end of the class where participants are singing the Shabd – “Ram Das Sarovar Natay” written by Guru Arjun Dev Ji.
WHAE GURU!
What a true and surprising Blessing this has been to have viewed Siri Singh Sahib Yogi Bhajan’s video that was so lovingly arranged, both musically and visually for all to see and share in the most important message he has brough to us – that of selfless service and the cure for the hungry soul.
I share in his vision of a forklift/bulldozer. . . . it is a simple yet very genuine understanding of what God will do for all of us .
I was in the Nanak Dwara Ashram in the early 70’s – priviledged to have been a part of the early trascription of the lectures which the Siri Singh Sahib gave while at Berkley. These were, as it turns out, the most valuable and inspired times of my life . . . in my teens and given tapes of lectures I turned into pages and later reread as teachings so needed today.
My sincere thanks for All. Sat Siri Akal.!
